Simplify & Prioritize

I have had Brylee for less than 2 weeks.  When I got her, the hair on her back was coarse in places... but with proper nutrition with a high quality dog food her coat has become very healthy.  And since putting Chester back on Precise dog food his coat has gotten a lot better as well.  I am very impressed with this food.  None of my animals will ever be on low quality pet food ever again.

I also have some coconut oil that I'm adding to their food that is supposed to have some good benefits, such as improved coat condition and skin. They are both now on hip and joint supplements, so hopefully they won't have as many problems as they grow older.  These dogs are better off then I am.  How sad is that! And now I must work on myself also!

Chester has been so much more active since Brylee came home. :)  That makes me very excited!! Now, I must get them more exercise... plans to go to the parks, for lots of walks, and swimming at work.

My next step is to get both of these dogs trained!  They have both been through the beginner class. I know Chester needs a refresher and a lot more work before he is ready for the next level.  And I must work with Brylee to get her comfortable working with me.  These 2 dogs are driving me crazy & they need to be put to work.  Maybe if they were therapy dogs they would have a mission in life and be happier.

It's a Girl!! :D

Congratulations! It’s a girl!

My family is now complete! :)

She is a 1 ½ old German Shepherd.  She is full of life and a total sweet heart!  I have had her barely 24 hours and I am completely in love with her!!  She is imperfectly perfect!

Her previous owners got her to be his police dog but since they have a 2 year old and one on the way and about to move they just didn’t have the time to devote to her.

I have been looking for a GSD for months, ever since Sassy passed away last year things just haven’t been the same with a sweet girl in my life.  I love Chester to death and I am so glad to have him & wouldn’t trade him!

On Craigslist you only find people that are selling puppies… So… I actually found Marley on craigslist.  I was a little nervous but the more I talked to the guy the better I felt about it.

Marley is a hot mess! But I love her so much!  She has forever long legs.  And one lazy ear which I like. :)  The only thing I don’t like is she slobbers a lot and is a messier drinker than Chester… I didn’t know that was possible!  She is goofy and so sweet.  She is scared of fast movements but she isn’t afraid to take Chester’s toys or play with him.

Last night, Sydney came over to meet her & was ready to play! Chester kind of plays with Sydney when he wants to, but nothing like her and Sassy did!  Well, anytime that she whimpered Chester would jump in the middle and stand up for his little sister and go after Sydney.  It was so sweet of him!

Although this morning I think he is a little stressed out!  She follows him everywhere and wants to be with him.  Poor Chester!

She has already been through beginner obedience, has recently had all of her shots & been spayed!  Thank goodness!  Now I just need to get her micro-chipped… but I can’t do that until I figure out what name I want for her… she doesn’t really come to anything I have called her so far.

She is a mischievous little thing!  I came home to trash strung across the floor & she grabbed the cats food bowl… which is in the utility room… behind a gate with a little cat door… we assume that she stuck her leg through the little door and pulled it to her because she is too big to fit through the small hole.

filling an emptiness we don’t even know we have.” :)
